Winston went to his first physical therapy appointment today, 5 weeks post -op for right front leg amputation! Dr. Amy said he was doing really, really well, however we need to help him lose a little weight, and do several exercises daily to give him the best quality of life.
We learned that stairs should be avoided if possible, however, since he sleeps upstairs with his pack, we should use his harness or sling to assist him – always. We also learned about fish oil, and the dosage to ensure that we give his joints what they need for this senior boy.
We are so glad that we went to PT so that we do the absolute best for him. We can’t wait to go back to see Dr. Amy. I had no idea that physical therapy was available for animals until I read about its benefits from the Tripawds site.
All of this fun had him tired toward the end of his visit, so it’s now dinner time followed by a nice nap.

We saw Dr. Amy Whaley in Minneapolis. She is amazing!
